Modern day living is busy and chaotic, often causes the body's flight, fight or freeze system to activate. Restorative Yoga can often engage the body's natural healing abilities by providing relaxation in an effortless way. When the relaxation system kicks in, the body drops down into the parasympathetic nervous system, causing cortisol and adrenal levels to decrease. As these levels drop, stress in the body, mind and spirit lowers and tension is lessened.
Restorative Yoga can be practiced by anyone, anytime. Whether you are pregnant, menstruating, recovering from injury or illness, recovering from emotional grief or pain, struggling with addiction or mental health issues, overcoming challenging life events, or even just drained and low on energy -- you can still practice restorative yoga.
